CoolSculpting vs Cryo T-Shock: What’s the Difference?

Peakbody CoolSculptingPeople all across the world struggle with stubborn fat and cellulite. It’s part of what makes us human, especially as we get older. For many, getting rid of this stubborn fat becomes a constant struggle; afterall, they don’t call it the ‘battle of the bulge’ for nothing! There’s good news, though. In recent years, noninvasive, nonsurgical methods for fat reduction have made their way onto the market. These methods are able to eliminate pesky fat without the scariness, downtime or risk of Liposuction. Sure, Liposuction is the gold standard when it comes to fat removal, but these noninvasive methods are just as good – and, just like Liposuction, they remove unwanted fat forever. In this article we’ll compare two popular noninvasive fat reduction methods: CoolSculpting and Cryo T-Shock therapy.

Basics of CoolSculpting

More than a decade ago, CoolSculpting was approved by the FDA as a safe and effective way to remove unwanted fat. CoolSculpting is noninvasive and nonsurgical, which means it does not require surgery or any of the things that come with it like anxiety, scalpels, anesthesia or a hefty downtime. This method uses controlled cooling to destroy fat and then excrete it out over time using the body’s lymphatic system. In other words, your body relies on its natural detoxification channels during a CoolSculpting procedure.

This technology was created more than a decade ago by Harvard University scientists who realized that fat freezes at a different temperature than other components of the human body like skin and the tissue underneath. Therefore, CoolSculpting only kills unwanted fat cells, not any of the other cells or tissues in the body. The procedure generally lasts between half an hour and an hour. But times vary based on the patient and what areas of the body they’re spot treating.

CoolSculpting is incredibly popular in the United States and abroad. It’s known worldwide as a body sculpting treatment – people all over the planet get this method of body sculpting done day in and day out. That’s why we like to call CoolSculpting the “tried and true” method for body sculpting.

CoolSculpting Near MeBasics of Cryo T-Shock

Cryo T-Shock is a much newer concept. It hasn’t been around for nearly as long as CoolSculpting. Cryo T-Shock therapy was made possible by an Italian medical device company called Pagani. Pagani says that Cryo T-Shock therapy is just as effective and comfortable as CoolSculpting – but it works differently. In addition to zapping fat, Cryo T-Shock is also effective at reducing cellulite.‍ Cryo T-Shock is just like CoolSculpting because it uses controlled cooling (aka cool temperatures) to remove adipose (aka fat) cells. In addition to cooling, a Cryo T-Shock body-sculpting treatment uses hot currents on the skin and fat. Using cold and hot is part of the appeal of this type of therapy. Pagani says that alternating hot and cold currents is a way of increasing fresh blood circulation to the pockets of fat that are being treated, therefore allowing the fat to be processed out more effectively. The use of hot and cold activates fat-burning hormones that are used to kill the unwanted fat. Once the fat cells are dead, the alternating hot and cold currents allow the fat to be more effectively drained from the body’s lymphatic system.

Both of these methods are excellent at getting rid of stubborn fat and they’re both very similar. Both are noninvasive and nonsurgical, meaning they don’t have the risks associated with surgery, or the long recovery time. Surgery means scalpels and anesthesia – but these procedures require none of that. This is one of the major benefits of utilizing a nonsurgical procedure. Keep this in mind when thinking overall about what you’d like your fat reduction journey to be like.

When it comes down to figuring out which method is better for you the best thing to do is contact a provider and ask them for their advice. CoolSculpting is a “tried and true” method for fat reduction. It’s been around for awhile and it’s trusted by people worldwide. We took this into account when we came to the conclusion that CoolSculpting is overall a better procedure. Why? First of all, CoolSculpting has been around longer; it’s popular everywhere and it does the same thing as Cryo T-Shock, which much less is known about.
