You've Got CoolSculpting Questions. We've Got Answers.
After many years and over 3200 successful procedures, our experience in helping people to gain the body they want has opened our eyes to the value of our work. Fat reduction does not simply mean helping people to attain a new shape, or recover a more youthful look. It carries over into all aspects of a person’s life; it improves self esteem, self-awareness, and confidence.
While other clinics offer a variety of other services and procedures, PeakBody offers only CoolSculpting. We do this because we believe that if we could master one simple procedure for improving someone’s health and look and treat it as an art form, then we could offer a quality of service that would not only enable us to beat our competition, but also to radically improve people’s lives.
We know from experience that an approach to fat reduction that is personalized and private can leave an enduring positive effect on you. This experience can be transformative, and one that you will want to share with others, sparking their transformation as well.
These discoveries led to the formation of PeakBody: A company founded on the idea that superior artistry, cutting-edge technology, and a philosophy that underscores quality can combine to provide non-invasive, lasting fat reduction to edify a person’s confidence and sense of self.
CoolSculpting is the world’s #1 non-invasive fat reduction procedure. It is non-surgical and FDA-cleared, with hundreds of peer-reviewed articles attesting to its safety and effectiveness.
Because CoolSculpting is non-invasive, there is minimal downtime for patients. This enables them to return to daily activities the same day, unlike with surgery. As of 2019, over 8 million CoolSculpting procedures have been performed, and it continues to grow in popularity as a safe, effective way of targeting and eliminating unwanted fat.
CoolSculpting allows you to choose what fat to remove, thus enabling you to contour, shape and sculpt your body in ways that diet and exercise cannot.
CoolSculpting was first approved by the FDA in 2010, and since then, countless peer-reviewed articles and studies have been published attesting to its safety and effectiveness. Although there is mild pain during the procedure, CoolSculpting is non-surgical, so there is no need for needles or cutting the skin. There is little to no downtime and you can get back to daily activities right away.
CoolSculpting is not recommended for people with loose skin or poor skin tone, or for people with a large amount of fat to lose. Cryoglobulinemia, Cold Urticaria, Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria and Cold Agglutinin Disease are four (very) rare conditions that can lead to significant complications following a CoolSculpting procedure. If you are unsure whether or not you have one of these conditions, ask your doctor, or talk to our staff when you come in for a free consultation.
As of 2019, medical professionals have performed over 8 million safe CoolSculpting procedures. CoolSculpting continues to grow in popularity given its track record as a safe method for shaping and sculpting the body. At this point in time, there have been no reported deaths from a CoolSculpting procedure. Learn More
During your consultation, the professionals at PeakBody will help you identify the areas of your body where you have unwanted fat. Our team then chooses with you the specific applicators needed to target and freeze that fat. During the procedure, the applicator will lower the temperature of your unwanted fat cells to approximately -9°C for a specific amount of time (usually between 35 to 75 minutes). Your body will then allow these fat cells to die, with no damage to your skin, muscle, or nerve cells.
Once the applicator is removed, one of our team members performs a 2-minute massage on the target area(s), which will cause more damage to the frozen cells, thus preventing your body from repairing them. These cells then die off over the next 2 to 3 days. Your body then begins a slow process of purging these cells from your system, which generally takes between 2 to 4 months.
After the fat has been expelled, you are left with a new, sculpted body! There is no damage to the skin, and your results are beautiful, and permanent. Learn More
For most people, CoolSculpting is not painful. However, some do experience mild discomfort at the beginning of the procedure as the tissue is cooling down, or when the applicator is removed for the 2-minute massage. Most people experience a mild stinging or tingling sensation, or cramping.
If you are in the minority of people who experience discomfort, our physician can offer a mild analgesic to reduce the pain. Generally, this soreness occurs in the days following treatment. We always communicate with our patients during this period to ensure that they are feeling okay, and we can easily be reached if you have additional concerns. Learn More
When you come into our clinic for a consultation, we will show you other cases of people who had successful procedures, and identify the various areas of your body where you want to see improvement. We can also assess how much fat needs to be removed from each of these areas, and which areas can be targeted during the same session. After answering a few specific questions, a plan of action will take shape. Learn More
Yes! Many of our patients are in excellent physical condition. However, often they discover that even with a focused and consistent workout routine, they still have a few stubborn areas of fat they cannot seem to get rid of. Spot reduction for those who are very lean can be difficult for practitioners who are inexperienced, but not for the professionals at PeakBody! We employ a wide range of applicators that enable us to target even the most difficult areas. If you are a lean person who has a few pockets of fat that you find frustrating, CoolSculpting is perfect for you.

CoolSculpting is a versatile, non-invasive, fat reduction procedure. It is useful for people with a wide variety of body types, because it can help you achieve a desired look in ways that conventional weight loss cannot. If you feel that you are doing everything right with respect to exercise and nutrition yet cannot achieve the physique you desire, CoolSculpting may serve as an excellent complement to your current regimen.
CoolSculpting can also help people who have gotten away from good, healthy habits, yet because of aging, genetics, or any number of other issues, they find it extra difficult to return to the form they want. If you’ve added a few pounds and need to jump-start your workout plan, combining it with CoolSculpting is a great way to get rolling. For many people, it adds motivation by giving you a vision for what your body will become, and lets you know that your goals are indeed possible. You can see the beautiful you that awaits in your future, and work steadily towards manifesting it. Learn More
Absolutely! Both men and women have fat cells. And although their bodies hide stubborn fat in different places, we know just where to find it. Both men and women can struggle to remove unwanted fat with just exercise alone, and both men and women have the desire to look their absolute best for the people in their lives. If you are interested in gaining self-confidence and improving your self-esteem, CoolSculpting helps you take a major step forward in achieving the body you want.
Not exactly. CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure. This is true for two reasons. First of all, even though fat cells take up a lot of space, they don’t really weigh very much. (Muscle is the opposite; muscle cells are dense and heavy, yet don’t take up a lot of space.) Because fat cells are larger in size, when they are removed, you will see a major change to your physique, even though it won’t necessarily be reflected on the scale.
Secondly, your body inflates your existing fat cells whenever you consume calories your body can’t use. What would happen if some of those fat cells were removed? After your CoolSculpting procedure, the fat cells located in your problem areas are gone, and thus, your body can no longer store fat there. So even if you gain weight again later, your physique should still retain the sculpted shape that you developed by having your procedure.
Remember: CoolSculpting will not help you remove a large amount of weight. If you’re carrying 50 extra pounds, the fat that your system will flush out after one procedure will be comparatively small. It will certainly help you shape and contour your body, but it won’t drop major pounds for you.
No. CoolSculpting is for people of any age, and has been used successfully on patients in their 20s and 80s. People of any age can look for ways to improve their appearance, and CoolSculpting provides an excellent way to gain confidence and a more positive self-image. Seniors may have difficulty exercising for a number of reasons, or may have trouble realizing gains when they do. Fortunately, CoolSculpting works well at any age, and can help you get the body you want. When you come in for a free consultation, we will help you set some clear goals and answer any questions you may have.
An excellent question. There are clear advantages to both procedures, and for some, it might be worth exploring both options. Both procedures are targeted fat reduction. This means that either one will remove unwanted fat from a specific area of the body. Thus, either procedure can enable you to reshape and sculpt your body into a desired form. This means that either procedure can result in a more beautiful you, enhanced self-esteem and confidence, and a greater enjoyment of life.
However, there are a few important differences. Most notably, liposuction is surgery, meaning that you will require anesthesia, cutting into the skin, and a longer recovery time. It can enable you to remove more fat in one procedure than with CoolSculpting. However, there will be stitches, probably a scar, and importantly: You will need to do a separate surgical procedure for each area of the body you wish to target.
If you want to remove love handles, you will need an incision and a scar for that. If you also want fat removed from your knees, that’s two more incisions, and two more scars. If you want to remove a double chin, that’s another incision, and another scar, and so on. Liposuction providers like to boast that they can accomplish everything in one procedure. But when you have multiple areas to target, that often doesn’t hold true.
At PeakBody, our efficient team of professionals have mastered the art of using more than one applicator at once. If you have stubborn fat in five different locations, don’t be surprised if we can remove all five pockets in one session. For liposuction surgeons, that result is often not feasible.
Every surgery has risks and potential complications. If you are going to take on the risk of surgery, you should have a clear benefit to doing so. Both procedures result in fat removal, but neither one can help you lose weight. With either procedure, you can still gain the weight back if you make poor eating choices; you will simply be storing that fat in a different part of your body. Fat loss is no more permanent with liposuction than it is with CoolSculpting.
Many of our patients are mothers. After giving birth, many women’s bodies go through a transformation that makes it much more difficult to lose weight and stay fit. A sad irony of motherhood is that, as an indirect consequence of the joyful experience of having kids, many mothers are unable to maintain the figure they had before pregnancy. This loss of self-image and confidence can be quite a challenge for many women.
Many mothers turn to CoolSculpting to help them regain the shape they had before pregnancy. Although CoolSculpting cannot help you lose weight, it absolutely can reshape your body to return it to a state that emphasizes your feminine figure. And when you combine your CoolSculpting procedure with consistent exercise and weight loss, the possibilities are endless.
Yes and no. After about age 13, the human body stops making new fat cells (except to replace the existing ones). So when you freeze and kill a few thousand, they’re not coming back. Those fat cells die within 2 or 3 days following the procedure, and then the body takes 2 to 4 additional months to expel that fat from the body.
However, CoolSculpting cannot replace a workout regimen. If you maintain the same lifestyle and eating habits that caused you to store fat, there is an excellent chance that you will gain back as fat all of the calories which were expelled following your CoolSculpting procedure. However, because the fat cells in the targeted areas were destroyed, your body will have to find new places to store those calories. So even if we gain weight after the procedure, we still retain some of the look that we created by targeting specific pockets of unwanted fat.
Many of our mothers have had C-sections, and became frustrated with trying to restore their stomach to its former look following the operation. The incision and scarring can lead to uneven pockets of fat on the abdomen, which can be a blow to a young mother’s self-esteem. These mothers come to us for help, and we are happy to oblige.
Weight gain following an operation is an excellent reason to choose CoolSculpting! Our applicators can precisely target those stubborn areas where fat has accumulated, and freeze and remove it. Exercise cannot do that.
After the scar has had time to heal and breast-feeding has stopped, we can move forward with a CoolSculpting procedure that will target and remove the unwanted fat around the stomach. We love showing before and after photos of our mothers to new clients, as they get inspired when they realize that they can get their young body back!
The price of your CoolSculpting procedure(s) will be determined by 3 main factors:
- Which areas of your body do you want to target?
- How much fat is in each area?
- How much fat would you like to remove from each area?
Everybody is different, and every patient’s goals are different. PeakBody does not make value judgments about where and how much fat you want to remove. However, we will tell you what is possible, and how many sessions it will take to remove all of the fat you want to get rid of. We work efficiently, and in many cases, can treat all of your areas in one session. However, we cannot quote you a figure until we sit down with you and learn your goals.
We’ve treated some people for $600, and others for $15,000. That may seem like a huge range, but again, cost is a function of the amount of work we perform for you. We do offer our Peak Promise CoolSculpting Guarantee, which should make you confident that once we agree on your treatment plan, you can bet that we will remove the fat you are expecting us to. We provide free consultations, and we never pressure you to make a decision. We simply talk to you about your body and goals, and help you come up with a plan to achieve them.

Although we cannot speak for our competitors, in our experience many CoolSculpting providers offer the procedure as an additional or bonus service to other services that they are more known for. Nobody likes to be left out when there is money to be made, so they invest in the equipment and pay for a few of their team members to become certified in its use. However, that does not mean that they have the experience or skill of a top clinic.
For these competitors, it is not in their financial interest to guarantee results. When a licensed provider only performs a procedure once in a while, it can be much more difficult to learn and grow from experience. The best feedback comes from performing the service frequently, which enables the practitioner to retain all of the nuances of each procedure and tool.
PeakBody has made its name by specializing in CoolSculpting. It is the only service we provide, and we’ve been at it for years. We’ve treated people from all walks of life, and understand that each person’s journey and goals are different. We’ve performed every different kind of procedure, acquired the latest and best equipment, and mastered the delicate art of targeting each area of the body to ensure that the result will be as close as possible to the desired shape of the patient. We take great joy in helping others, and don’t mind offering our Peak Promise CoolSculpting Guarantee as a way to give our potential customers confidence that we can provide the look they are seeking.
Yes you can! No matter what your goals are, CoolSculpting is bound to give you two important things: 1) When you come to our office for your free consultation, you will gain a solid understanding of what is possible with your body, and how to make it happen. You will be able to think critically about your goals, and can open your eyes to what is possible. 2) By having the procedure, you take a big step toward achieving those goals. Getting early positive results from a wellness program is a huge morale boost; for many, it is the difference between following through and giving up.
If you then combine these results with consistent effort toward health and weight loss, this fat will not only not come back, but you can see even more positive gains as you move toward your ideal physique. The perfect body is not as far away as you may think. The professionals at PeakBody can’t run your treadmill for you. But we can give you a powerful incentive that will help you want to stay on it.
There are many reasons why we sometimes find it more difficult to lose weight as we get older. Listed here are some of those reasons.
Our Muscle Mass Declines with Age
Muscle mass is a big factor in losing or maintaining weight. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, whether you are actively using that muscle or not. However, as we age, we experience a phenomenon known as age-related sarcopenia. Beginning around the age of 50, this phenomenon basically results in the loss of about 3% of muscle strength and mass per year. A lack of exercise or poor nutrition can also contribute to this decline.
A Slowing Metabolism
After the age of 30, each person’s metabolism slows by 1-2% each year, or more. As a consequence, our bodies respond differently when we attempt to start new habits.
Increased Stress Levels Contribute to Weight Gain
As we get older, we tend to take on more and more responsibility. Often these things take up a lot of time, squeezing out our opportunities for stress-relieving activities and leisure. These conditions can increase stress, which raises our levels of the hormone cortisol. Higher levels of cortisol are associated with weight gain, as it causes our bodies to convert excess calories into fat.
CoolSculpting provides Results that can help you Overcome age-related Weight Gain
If you are struggling to lose weight and you’re north of 40, just understand that you’re not alone. Many people face the same challenge, and sometimes need a little incentive to get going. While exercise and a healthy diet are essential elements in any weight loss plan, sometimes they don’t give us the immediate results we are seeking. If this sounds like you, don’t give up.
If you’re looking for an edge in achieving your weight loss goals, the professionals at PeakBody have something to offer. CoolSculpting is the #1 non-invasive fat-reduction procedure in the world, and many choose it to target pockets of unwanted fat. This is a real game changer in the quest to gain the body you want! Many people work out for years, yet are unable to get rid of certain stubborn pockets of fat that continue to detract from their physique. Imagine if you could suddenly eliminate those pockets with a simple, safe medical procedure while you continue to work on burning calories and fat. Many people choose this option because the results are permanent, and because it serves as motivation to stay the course and attain the body that they are looking for.
Many people in the health and wellness community have often wondered why it seems to be easier for men to make changes to their bodies than women. Is this in fact true? If so, let’s consider why this may be.
Men carry more Muscle
The average male body is significantly larger than the average female. Men also carry more muscle mass. More cells and more muscle mean a greater capacity for burning calories. Men also tend to have less body fat, and much more muscle than women of a similar age and weight. This means that men’s natural bodies enable them to burn calories (and therefore lose weight) much faster than women.
Men have more Testosterone, and less Estrogen
The primary male sex hormone is testosterone, and men have a lot of it. Testosterone plays a major role in enabling a man to grow muscle, which in turn helps him to burn calories and lose weight. Women, on the other hand, have high levels of estrogen, which makes it easier for their bodies to hold on to weight. On average, women have about 11 percent more body fat than men. Over the course of their lives, women tend to store more body fat, and this is seen in their natural physiology. Fat is present at high levels in the breasts, thighs, hips, and other areas.
Men carry more of their Fat in the Abdomen
As men gain weight, their bodies tend to store most of it around their waist. When they lose weight, they tend to lose it from the same location. In other words, both gains and losses are more noticeable.
As stated earlier, women tend to carry more body fat, which is stored all around their bodies. When women lose weight, the losses are distributed throughout their bodies, and thus are less noticeable.
Are Women really at a Disadvantage when Losing Weight?
So if you’re a woman trying to lose weight, don’t be discouraged by having less muscle mass available for burning calories. Because your body needs fewer calories to function than a man of the same age, that means you (on average) consume fewer calories. That means you have fewer calories to burn before you start to burn fat. It also means that every time you avoid a cheat food (e.g. a slice of cake), it’s a major victory, because you’ll have that many fewer calories to burn in a workout.
The other disadvantage women have is that when their bodies burn fat, they must pull the fat from all over the body instead of a few problem areas. This means that when you’re losing weight, those gains might not be as evident from looking at your physique. What if there were a way to sculpt your body, to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat permanently? Wouldn’t you rather get rid of fat from those problem areas ahead of time, and then use your workout to lose more overall fat and weight?
Can CoolSculpting help Women reach their Weight Loss Goals?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure for targeting and eliminating stubborn fat. It enables you to sculpt and contour your body into a more pleasing shape. With just one session, you can freeze and destroy fat cells in the areas that are most resistant to exercise. Your body then takes a couple months to break those cells down and flush them out of your system. The amount of fat is small compared to the amount you will lose in a weight loss campaign. But because it lies in those areas that directly affect your appearance, once they are gone, you will see an immediate impact. At that point, your efforts to burn calories and fat via diet and exercise will trend you more quickly toward a sleeker, more striking figure.
Everyone has a different body, with different needs. Not every body responds the same way to diet and exercise. Many factors contribute to a person’s ability to gain or lose weight. That means understanding what body type you have can make a big difference in how you approach your fitness routine, and in setting the right goals.
What is my Body Type?
In this section we consider three basic body types. Not everyone fits cleanly into one of these categories. Many people have bodies that are some combination of traits from two of these groups, or of all three. But more importantly, these categories are very broad. They only begin the discussion of how to understand your body. There are many more differences one can discover if one looks closely enough. The important thing is to remain present to what your body needs, and how it responds to diet and exercise.
Ectomorph
Ectomorphs are lean, with long limbs. They tend to have a narrow frame, with thin arms and legs. Blessed with a high metabolism, they often find it difficult to gain weight and muscle. Their bodies tend to have very little fat, and burn fat easily. If you know someone who is tall and thin, who eats whatever they want and never gains weight, they might be an Ectomorph.
Mesomorph
Mesomorphs have a more sturdy frame, meant for carrying muscle. With a more rectangular shape, they tend to appear strong and athletic. When they work out, their bodies gain weight and muscle more easily than other types do. Individuals in this category tend to have an easier time building and maintaining a desired physique.
Endomorph
People in this category tend to have a solid physique, with a frame that is shorter and rounder than others. With a softer body, they have a lower metabolism, which means that they gain weight and fat more easily than those in the other categories. Those in this category have a more difficult time losing weight.
CoolSculpting helps You get the Most out of Your Body Type
No matter what body type you have, you still have the challenge of loving your body the way it is. Loving yourself and your body does not mean that you must accept things the way they are. There are several advances in medical technology that enable us to make changes previously thought of as impossible. CoolSculpting is one of those innovations.
Regardless of how your particular body responds to diet and exercise, you may have found that there are certain stubborn pockets of fat that simply won’t go away. CoolSculpting is meant for people like you. A safe and non-invasive procedure, CoolSculpting enables you to choose which areas of your body have too much fat, and then target and remove the fat from those areas. The result is a figure that is sculpted and contoured to look just how you want it to. CoolSculpting also makes your fitness regimen more rewarding, as you have less fat to burn in the areas that affect your appearance the most.
If you want more information about this amazing procedure, contact the professionals at PeakBody CoolSculpting. We are happy to answer any of your questions, and can set you up for a free consultation, where we can discuss the various options available for helping you achieve your fitness goals. Getting that body you always wanted is quite possible, and within reach!
At PeakBody, we realize that you are taking some degree of risk whenever you put money down on a procedure that is intended to improve your appearance. CoolSculpting is safe, with virtually no risk to your long-term health. However, that does not mean that the procedure will produce your desired results.
But at PeakBody, we have a lot of confidence in our ability to produce the results that you want. That’s why we came up with the Peak Promise CoolSculpting Guarantee:
“Although uncommon, if at month four you are still at your original weight, and we are not seeing a visible reduction in the fat layer based on before and after photos, we set up an additional appointment for one month later.
When you return in month five, we will take more photos. If you are still at your original weight and still have not seen a change, we will treat you again for free.”
As you can see, we mean business when it comes to your health and appearance. The procedure requires a few months to take effect. So we can understand how you might feel disappointed if you are not seeing results after a long wait. The retreatment ensures that you will get the results you intended to gain from your session. Those results are important to you, but they are important to us too. That’s why we treat you again for free if we fall short of our objectives.
