What’s the difference: LipoFreeze vs CoolSculpting

If busting unwanted body fat is your goal, there’s no time better than today to start researching non-invasive, nonsurgical methods for fat loss. When looking into fat reduction technologies, you’ve probably seen a few names thrown around. In this article we’re going to talk about two of them: LipoFreeze and CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting, is a trusted method for non-invasive fat reduction. It’s been around for a long time and is considered the leader of the pack among all of the new technologies that come out from time to time. As a leader, there have been numerous technologies that claim to do the same thing as CoolSculpting, but with different methods for killing the fat. There are also a handful of other procedures that claim to offer the same results as CoolSculpting, but with different names. Cryolipolysis is one. LipoFreeze is another. Both of these are the generic versions of CoolSculpting. They’re basically the same thing, but generic. And like with many generic spins on trusted, original technology, the provider offering these versions is doing so with less experience and expertise than the provider who is offering the original technology. Generic providers attempt to cut corners in order to make more money. Why? CoolSculpting technology is expensive – generic providers don’t want to pay to use the original technology.

What is Lipofreeze?

LipoFreeze is a generic CoolSculpting. It is a way to reduce fat by cryolipolysis, which splits fat by cooling it. CoolSculpting was created by Harvard University scientists D. Meinstein and R. Anderson, who thought of the idea in the early 2000s. By 2009, the scientists created the first CoolSculpting device, later gaining FDA approval. The goal of CoolSculpting, LipoFreeze, and anything similar is to reduce diet and exercise-resistant fat deposits with the use of cool temperatures. CoolSculpting and LipoFreeze are nonsurgical cosmetic procedures that get rid of fat without causing damage to the skin. Once the fat is removed, it’s gone permanently. This technology relies upon the biological response fat cells have to have low temperatures, in a process known as cryolipolysis.

CoolSculpting vs LipoFreeze: What’s better?

CoolSculpting has something these generic versions don’t. CoolSculpting is FDA cleared and has a patient base large enough to show that it’s effective.  If you’re being offered “LipoFreeze” you might want to get some information from the provider, like the name of the device’s manufacturer, FDA clearance information, as well as data about the safety and efficacy of the device they’re using.  In reality, machines claiming to be generic versions of CoolSculpting come to North America from overseas, but don’t have the FDA clearance. These same machines lack safety and efficacy data. In other words, it’s always in your best interest to research your provider and see what they’re working with. You want a provider that’s experienced and knows the technology they’re using.  When treating your body, you want to work with an expert – and you want to work with the best technology and the best equipment out there. Generic versions simply don’t cut it.

What’s in a name?

Brand identity is incredibly important. Think of brands like Band-Aid, Chapstick, and Kleenex. All are well-known and well-loved. Now think of the dollar store versions of these brands. Suddenly, you’re faced with bandages that don’t stick to the wound as well, lip balm that doesn’t glide, tissue that crumbles when you try to wipe your nose. CoolSculpting is a brand that uses fat freezing technology to bring people closer to their body sculpting goals. And, CoolSculpting is trademarked as such, with years of experience providing patients with the results they desire.  And just like the examples above, CoolSculpting is a common household name. It’s the brand name – not the name of the procedure, a lot of people get this fact confused.

The bottom line is, CoolSculpting is a brand name, world recognized for its excellence in providing body sculpting technology to those who have diet and exercise resistant fat. The other important piece to take away is that the provider you use matters. Think of CoolSculpting as a tool –  it’s how you use the tools you’re given that really count. If we take the example of a bodybuilder and apply it to CoolSculpting, let’s see what we get. Every bodybuilder has access to weights. But, some bodybuilders know how to use the weights better and can be more competitive with the weights they have. Just like with a bodybuilder, it’s the talent of the provider that really matters. Yes, all gyms have pretty much the same equipment, but it comes down to the sheer talent of the bodybuilder to compete and win.

In other words, not everybody can lift without putting out their back.

When talking about CoolSculpting, you’ll want to be sure that the practice and professional you decide to invest in is well-practiced, certified, qualified and will give you the best possible results. There should be absolutely no cutting corners when it comes to a procedure like this. You want the best possible results from the start, and therefore, you want to work with a professional who knows the technology inside and out.
