If you’ve been looking into noninvasive body contouring treatments you’ve probably heard of Heat Sculpting, Hot Sculpting or Warm Sculpting. Heat Sculpting and Warm Sculpting are synonymous and they refer to any body sculpting treatment that uses warmth or warm temperatures to remove fat or tighten skin. But the question is, which one works for you? The answer is more complicated than recognizing if you like hot weather or cold weather. In this article we’re going to talk about CoolSculpting and Warm Sculpting and what they do for the body. By the end we hope to give you a better understanding of what these procedures are and how they can help you.
CoolSculpting vs Warm Sculpting: How are they Similar?
First of all, CoolSculpting and Warm Sculpting are popular procedures when it comes to getting rid of unwanted body fat without the use of incisions or anesthesia. For this reason they have quite a few things in common. The first thing they have in common is that they do not require surgery. These are both treatments that allow you to go back to normal life pretty much right away. Also, neither of these procedures produce results overnight. The only way to get results the same day is to surgically remove fat with liposuction, but then there would be a hefty recovery time and all of that. If you’re looking into nonsurgical methods it takes a little bit longer. It takes about a month to see results with either of these treatments, because results are reliant on the body’s lymphatic system and how quickly it excretes the destroyed fat. You can speed up the process by eating healthy and exercising. Another thing that these procedures have in common is that they are permanent solutions for fat removal. That means that once the fat is gone it’s gone for good. It cannot grow back. Continuing with healthy eating and exercise will help with weight maintenance in the future. One last thing they have in common is that they are both FDA approved as safe and effective ways to remove unwanted fat.
Basics of CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is an FDA approved, noninvasive, nonsurgical method for the removal of unwanted fat. This method relies on the use of controlled cooling to destroy fat. It works because fat freezes at a lower temperature than other parts of the body; therefore, a CoolSculpting procedure only kills unwanted fat cells, not any of the other cells or tissues in the body. CoolSculpting generally lasts between half an hour and an hour, depending on the patient. After treatment, the frozen, destroyed fat cells are absorbed into the body and then leave over time naturally, through the body’s detoxification channels. This process relies on the body’s lymphatic system to naturally get rid of fat.
CoolSculpting is known worldwide as a body sculpting treatment – people all over the planet get this method of body sculpting done day in and day out. It’s been around for more than 10 years and was developed by Harvard University scientists. That’s why we like to call CoolSculpting the “tried and true” method for body sculpting.
Basics of Warm Sculpting
When we talk about Warm Sculpting or Heat Sculpting, we are talking about any of the noninvasive body contouring procedures that use warmth, warm temperatures and heat to sculpt the body and/or get rid of fat. The most common one (and the one we’ll use in this example) is SculpSure. Let’s get a little bit more into SculpSure and what it does. SculpSure is a popular noninvasive, nonsurgical method in the body contouring category. It uses hyperthermic lasers to do two things: eliminate unwanted fat and tighten the skin.
During a SculpSure treatment a few things happen. First, the provider takes a special applicator with four paddles and secures it to the area that you want treated. This might be the chin, back, abdomen, flanks, back or thighs. Then, the applicator sends a warming sensation to the selected target zone and subcutaneous fat cells are destroyed. While the fat is blasted with warmth, a cooling effect also comes out of the applicator in order to make the patient feel more comfortable. After the procedure is complete and the fat cells are destroyed, they are eliminated from the body naturally over the next few weeks and months. This part of the process relies on the body’s lymphatic system to naturally excrete the destroyed fat. Patients often see results in about a month. What do the results look like? A more slim and toned appearance. The treatment takes about half an hour in total. After treatment the patient can resume normal activities and go about life as normal. This is possibly the greatest benefit of a noninvasive and nonsurgical procedure – no hefty downtime.
CoolSculpting vs Warm Sculpting: Overall
Both of these methods are excellent at getting rid of stubborn fat. They’re both noninvasive and nonsurgical, meaning they don’t have the risks associated with surgery, or the long recovery time. When it comes down to figuring out which method is better for you the best thing to do is contact a provider and ask them for their advice. Like we said above, it’s about more than just liking hot temperatures or cold temperatures, the differences between these two procedures is about what you want your end result to be.
