What should I expect on my treatment day? What happens after my treatment? In this article we’ll explain all of that. We’ll go over all of the important information you need to know about what to expect before, during and after your CoolSculpting treatment with us at PeakBody.
Before your CoolSculpting treatment
Are you a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
Before you even set up your CoolSculpting treatment we’re going to need to first figure something out. We’re going to need to determine whether or not you’ll be a good candidate for CoolSculpting. At your initial consultation, one of our professionals will evaluate you and get an idea of who you are and what you’re looking to do. We’ll customize a plan for you and figure out which applicator we’ll be using for your treatment – we have nine different shapes and sizes of CoolSculpting applicators. We’ll also make sure that you don’t have any contraindications to treatment, meaning, we’ll make sure that there are no reasons why you couldn’t have the treatment performed. This is how we’ll figure out if you’re a good candidate for CoolSculpting.
Want to know if you’re an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting? Here are some of the criteria we use for determining a good candidate.
- Do you have subcutaneous fat? In other words: can you grab or tug on your fat?
- Is your fat diet and/or exercise resistant?
- Is your fat located in one of the FDA-cleared areas?
- Do you have realistic expectations?
If you answered yes to these questions, and you don’t have a contraindication to treatment, you may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting.
At your consultation, we’ll work with you to develop a customized treatment plan. Your treatment plan will be tailor made to you, your body and your goals. Everybody is different; everyone’s goals are different and we work with every client that comes in on their personalized plan.
During your CoolSculpting treatment
At PeakBody, we know what questions our clients ask. Our clients want to know how long the procedure takes and what it feels like – so, we answered these questions for you, now.
How long does CoolSculpting Treatment take?
Your treatment time is based on what part of the body you’re having treated; and even beyond your target area, treatment duration varies. Some treatments may take 35 minutes, allowing time for a quick nap before heading back to work or family. Some treatments will take more time. You’ll get a better idea of exactly how long your procedure will take when you come in for your personalized consultation.
What does CoolSculpting feel like?
Our clients say that during their procedures they feel slight sensations. Everybody is different, but some of the sensations you may experience include: aching; cramping; slight pulling or tugging; intense cold; stinging and tingling. Then, as these sensations begin to fade away, the area will become temporarily numb.
What to expect After CoolSculpting treatment
To understand what happens after your CoolSculpting Treatment, you have to first understand what CoolSculpting does. CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved method for reducing fat with the use of accurate, controlled cooling technology that precisely targets fat cells below the skin’s surface with a procedure called cryolipolysis. The targeted fat cells then become crystallized and die.
So, now that you understand how it works, let’s get back to what you can expect after the treatment. After the treatment, your body works to naturally eliminate and remove the dead fat cells that were targeted. It’s important to remember that CoolSculpting isn’t plastic surgery, nor is it a weight loss treatment – it’s a noninvasive, nonsurgical fat reduction treatment that targets stubborn areas of fat on the body. In other words, this procedure gets rid of fat cells.
More on what to expect After
After CoolSculpting you may see 20% to 25% less fat in the area that was treated – but again, CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure, it is a fat-reduction treatment.
Also after your treatment, you may have some temporary side effects. These include: aching, bruising, blanching, cramping or tingling. You may also experience some skin sensitivity, redness or swelling. The targeted area may feel firm, tender or it may even sting. Some clients have reported that after the submental or submandibular treatment they felt a fullness in the back of the throat. These side effects are usually temporary and you should be feeling better soon; swelling and redness will gradually dissipate and so on. All of our clients say the results they see and feel outweigh any temporary side effects.
How Long Does it Take to See Results from a CoolSculpting Treatment?
With CoolSculpting, targeted fat cells naturally get flushed out of your body with healthy eating and drinking water, so you can help the process along by participating in healthy living practices. Most of our clients report results in 1 to 3 months. Many of our clients decide to go for two CoolSculpting treatments at once, this will cut down on the time it takes to see overall results.
How much is CoolSculpting?
We never like to give prices on the internet and that’s because CoolSculpting is a highly personal procedure and everybody’s thoughts, goals and ideas about CoolSculpting are different and therefore the pricing is different for everyone as well. When you come in for your initial consultation we’ll figure out how many treatments you need and what areas of the body you want to target. This will give us the best idea of what the cost will be.
